Government bonds: trading prices unverified. The latest official auction results were not retrieved, so auction rates/yields are missing too. Missing does not mean zero or unchanged.
The same CSO series are unchanged from 19 to 20 October for gold, two rice grades and two fuels. This does not establish unchanged shop prices. MYANPIX rose 4.33 points; an index alone does not establish earnings or economy-wide conditions.

Palm oil: separate statistics and shop prices
Fact
DVB’s 19 October report cites Yangon palm oil at 15,000–25,000 MMK/viss on the market and limited subsidised supply at 8,000. CSO lists 7,769 for 20 October. Shops, quality and purchasing terms are not aligned; these are not one comparable series.
Analysis
A low published price does not establish availability on the required day. Separate subsidised purchases from ordinary procurement and price the shortfall. DVB’s wording on the observation interval is inconsistent, so we calculate neither a monthly rise nor a percentage gap against CSO.
Suggested checks
Obtain at least two written quotes for identical quality, packaging, weight and delivery date. Separate oil cost, freight, minimum order and substitution terms. Hypothetically, buying 100 viss at an extra 1,000 MMK/viss adds 100,000 MMK. This is a scenario, not actual purchasing cost or profit.
Using JETRO during its website suspension
Fact
JETRO’s 19 October notice says it suspended its website on 17 October following unauthorised access. A temporary page lists available consultation services and events. The Myanmar country page also displayed this temporary guidance when checked on 21 October.
Analysis
Unavailable country research does not mean every consultation or event is cancelled. Archived pages may provide background but cannot substitute for current application conditions. Inaccessible information is not evidence that rules are unchanged.
Suggested checks
Keep the confirmation email. JETRO says confirmed applicants do not need to apply again. Use the relevant channel on its temporary page for new applications and deadlines. Verify from the official domain rather than relying solely on links in incoming messages.
Restoration time is unconfirmed. This is a Japanese service outage, not evidence of a Myanmar-wide communications outage.
Laptop supply, setup and delivery tender
The Japan Foundation, Yangon announced laptop supply, initial setup and delivery procurement on 15 October. We verified the public notice, but not the separately emailed Specifications and Kitting Manual. Quantity, detailed models and additional eligibility remain unverified.
Scope and eligibility
The work includes setup, not just hardware. Bidders must satisfy specifications and demonstrate delivery capability. Do not commit a price before resolving those requirements.
Cost the whole obligation | Analysis
Include taxes and charges. Cost the 36-month warranty, repairs, parts or replacement arrangements, setup and delivery. Establish who bears FX changes and procurement delays.

Study consultation | Online on 4 November
The Japanese Embassy’s 19 October notice announces an online study consultation on 4 November, 14:00–16:00, including Tokyo Metropolitan University. The notice omits timezone and booking deadline: check the booking form and organiser guidance. Participation guarantees neither admission nor a scholarship.
The National Portal tender list was also checked. Candidates lacking original notices or eligibility terms were held. The laptop specifications remain unavailable to us, so eligibility is not assured.
