Today’s conclusions and decisions
A dividend date, a crop-area estimate and an international meeting require different checks. Follow each announcement through to the conditions that make it usable.
ASPGB payment date is today
The 19 October disclosure names 20 October as the dividend payment date. Check entitlement, bank registration and the post-split share basis.
Evidence and analysis →Separate rice acreage from supply
Authorities report more than 1.3 million acres of Pawsan in Ayeyawady. Harvesting, milling and logistics still determine saleable supply.
Evidence and analysis →Track the conditions behind energy talks
Energy talks with Thailand took place on 19 October. Contract values, delivery dates and tariffs remain unverified; procurement conditions have not necessarily improved.
Evidence and analysis →FX and remittances: dated observations

Gold source: Shwe Bon Thar Street market; side and individual shop are unspecified. Fuel outlet is also unspecified. Original units are retained: no gallon-to-litre or pyi-to-kg conversion. Main Board is distinct from the Pre-Listing Board.
Government bonds: trading prices unverified. The latest official auction results were not retrieved, so auction rates/yields are missing too. Missing does not mean zero or unchanged.
The same CSO series show no change from 16 to 19 October in gold, two rice grades and two fuels. This does not establish unchanged prices at every shop. MYANPIX fell 10.72 points. An index move alone cannot establish company earnings or economy-wide demand.

ASPGB dividends: date and share basis
Fact
ASPGB’s 19 October disclosure designates today, 20 October, for its FY2025–26 dividend payment. This resolves the date left unverified in our previous issue. Actual credits remain unconfirmed. Registered securities-account holders are directed to their registered bank accounts; others may collect at the company’s head office.
Analysis
The notice lists 500 MMK per old share, a 20-for-1 split and 25 MMK. While 500 ÷ 20 = 25, its English text calls 25 “per original share”. The issuer needs to clarify that wording against the post-split basis. Buying a share today does not establish dividend entitlement.
Suggested checks
Head-office collection requires the share certificate and NRC, each with an original and copy. A representative also needs a power of attorney and their NRC original and copy. Confirm the record date, eligible holding and final document list with the issuer or broker.
Rice acreage is not yet saleable supply
Fact
State-run GNLM’s 20 October report cites the Agriculture Department: monsoon Pawsan planting in Ayeyawady rose from 750,000 acres last year to more than 1.3 million this season. Harvested area was 130,000 acres as of 15 October. Yield of 65–75 baskets/acre is a forecast, not independently verified output.
Analysis
Area indicates potential supply, not sales volume. Yield, moisture, milling recovery, quality and transport determine deliveries. This issue’s CSO series includes ShweBo Pawsan from another producing area. It does not demonstrate a price fall caused by Ayeyawady planting.
Suggested checks
Millers and buyers should compare quotations for the same variety, harvest year, moisture, broken-rice ratio and delivery point. Confirm bag weight, inspection method and shipping date. Acreage alone is insufficient to set purchase volumes or selling prices.
1.3 million is a lower bound, not an exact total. Do not present a precise growth or harvest-completion rate. Do not convert baskets, pyi or bags to kilograms without weight specifications. Track planting, forecast yield and actual harvest separately.
Energy talks: the delivery milestones
GNLM reported on 20 October that Myanmar and Thai energy ministers met on 19 October. Topics included gas output, new projects, pipelines, hydropower, transmission and a cooperation memorandum. PTT, PTTEP and EGAT representatives attended. This is not confirmation of newly signed contracts or actual deliveries.
From discussion to delivery
Talks → contracts and permits → finance and construction → commissioning → commercial supply. Each is a separate milestone. The report does not establish capacity, contract price or start date.
Implications for buyers | Analysis
Factories, hotels and generator users should not revise near-term outage or fuel plans on this meeting alone. Obtain written quantity, specification, delivery-date and interruption terms from suppliers.
What would change the assessment
Update the assessment when signed agreements, permits, financing, schedules, tariffs and delivery terms emerge. Attendance at talks is not evidence of an awarded contract or invested capital.
Briefs: rail, education and remittances
Rail | Ye–Mawlamyine restart has no confirmed date
GNLM’s 20 October report describes work on Ye station and Myanma Railways’ intention to resume the route soon. No start date, timetable or fares are provided. Shippers and travellers should confirm the operator’s formal notice before booking or arranging connections.
Education | School names and teacher credentials
GNLM’s 20 October report quotes a parliamentary reply: private and international schools are not required to use Myanmar-only names, and verified foreign or private-university qualifications may be accepted for teacher registration. This is not a newly promulgated law. Applicants should check the current original procedure and assessment conditions.
Remittances | Kyodai head-office counter closed today
Kyodai’s notice dated 19 October says its head-office counter is closed on 20 October and points to the nearby Shin-Okubo Ekimae branch. It does not announce suspension of all branches or online transfers. Check branch hours and available services before visiting.
What to verify next
These are editorial suggestions for readers, not institutional decisions or internal assignments.
| Subject | Evidence to check | Decision point |
|---|---|---|
| ASPGB collection | Check record date, holding, the basis of 25 MMK and bank registration. Ask the issuer or broker about any missing credit. | Designated payment: 20 Oct |
| Rice purchasing | Align variety, grade, weight, moisture and delivery point. Separate harvest expectations from dispatchable volume. | Before order / contract |
| Power and transport | Retain existing alternatives until original supply agreements or operating notices establish usable conditions. | Before booking / budget change |
ASPGB · Good Brothers
A separate disclosure says major shareholder Good Brothers unconditionally waived 1,309,240,000 MMK on 52,369,600 shares. The board accepted this on 5 June. It applies only to that financial year. A waived payout is neither fresh cash investment nor an increase in other shareholders’ dividends.
We checked the National Portal tender list but could not sufficiently retrieve original notices and eligibility conditions for the candidate projects. They are not presented as available bidding opportunities. Publication dates and deadlines are separate.
